Air India to fly non-stop from Amritsar to Patna from 27 October

In a recent update, Air India will be flying non-stop from Amritsar to Patna starting 27 October. Two holy destinations will now be easily accessible for the pilgrims. Early this month, Air India also announced its direct flight to London’s Stansted Airport. Fliers can now fly to Amritsar from three Airports of UK.

Bengaluru based Star Air to fly Hubli-Hindon from 6 November

Civil Air Terminal at Hindon Airport has recently commenced its commercial flight operations, Pithoragarh-Hindon. Air Heritage will be operating on this route. However, Star Air has also announced that they will operate flights for Hubli-Hindon-Hubli with effect from 6 November. Star Air will fly EMB-145 (Jet engine), a 50-seater aircraft on this route.

AirAsia India to fly daily on Delhi-Jaipur route from 20 Oct

 AirAsia India has announced that it will start daily flight on Delhi-Jaipur route from October 20. The flight will depart from Delhi airport at 10.35 am and will arrive in Jaipur at 11.45 am. The return flight will depart at 12.15 pm from Jaipur and will arrive at 1.25 pm at Delhi airport.

 

Etihad and Air Arabia to launch new LCC- Air Arabia Abu Dhabi

Etihad Aviation Group and Air Arabia, have joined hands to launch a new Low Cost Carrier (LCC), called Air Arabia Abu Dhabi. The new airline would be offering increased budget travel options to travellers going to and from the UAE. Currently Etihad and Air Arabia operate a combined fleet of 162 aircraft, including 109 by the former and 53 by the latter. Air Arabia flies to 170 destinations across 50 countries through its Sharjah, Morocco and Egypt hubs while Etihad flies to 80 destinations. Tony Douglas, group CEO of Etihad Aviation Group, said the carrier will offer passengers a new option for low-cost travel to and from Abu Dhabi. “We look forward to the launch of the new airline in due course,” he said. Adel Al Ali, group CEO of Air Arabia, said the UAE has developed over the years to become a leading travel and tourism hub and this partnership will further serve the growing low-cost travel segment locally and regionally.”

IRCTC launches Buddhist Circuit train; major sites in India & Nepal to be covered

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) launches its first Buddhist Circuit train today, which will take tourists to all the major Buddhist sites in India and Nepal. The destinations that will be covered by the train include Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha, Bodhgaya in Bihar where Buddha got enlightenment, Sarnath in Varanasi where Buddha gave his first sermon to his five disciples, and then Kushinagar in Nepal where Buddha attained nirvana. According to a statement by IRCTC, “The significance of these destinations can be seen in the Mahaparinirvana sutra, wherein the Lord Buddha tells his followers that they can attain merit and a noble rebirth by going on pilgrimages to these places.

 MOT launches 11 itineraries under ‘Gandhi Gramin Circuit’

 

Ministry of Tourism has released 11 itineraries, that will trace the life of Mahatma Gandhi, under the ‘Gandhi Gramin Circuit’, announced Yogendra Tripathi, Secretary, Tourism. Tour operators are going to promote the circuit throughout the year to mark Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th Birth Anniversary celebrations. All these locations are directly connected with Mahatma Gandhi. Not only his birthplace, Porbandar, Gujarat, but all the locations he worked, lived and connected with people throughout his life.

 

Tourism Minister bans single-use plastic in and around ASI monuments

 

Prahlad Singh Patel, Minister of State (I/C) for Tourism and Culture, has announced that single-use plastic will not be allowed within ASI protected monuments and within 100 m of these monuments. He made the announcement at the launch of Paryatan Parv 2019, which was inaugurated on October 2, 2019 at Rajpath lawns, by Prakash Javadekar, Minister of Environment, Forest & Climate Change and Information & Broadcasting and Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Minister of Steel.

 Madhya Pradesh to get its 7th tiger reserve near Bhopal at Ratapani

 

Madhya Pradesh is set to get its 7th tiger reserve, which has been proposed to be carved out of the Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary, and will be called the Ratapani Tiger Reserve. The declaration was reportedly made recently and the committee of the state government has submitted a report consisting of the final outline of the core and buffer areas of the tiger reserve that was proposed.

 

Kerala becomes first state to partner with China for its China Ready programme

In a bid to increase the tourist footfall from China, Kerala has become the first Indian state to partner with the China Ready programme, which has already been conducted in 48 countries. Kerala Tourism has joined hands with Welcome China, a government accredited initiative that works to help travel and tourism engage meaningfully with China. This is part of the state’s tourism promotion plans.

Belarus visa services now offered by VFS Global in India

VFS Global has commenced Belarus visa services for the residents of India through centres in five cities – Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Kolkata. This is the first time the Belarus Ministry of Foreign Affairs has outsourced their visa services. The centres accept applications for tourist, business, and private visit visas across all these locations. Prior to this, customers in India had to visit the the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in New Delhi to apply for their Belarus visas.

 

VFS Global now offers Iceland visa services in India

The Embassy of Iceland, New Delhi has appointed VFS Global to process Iceland visa applications for Indian travellers. H.E. Gudmundur Arni Stefansson, Ambassador, Embassy of Iceland and Alok Singhal, Regional Head – North & East India, VFS Global signed the contract recently for this. Iceland has been gaining popularity among Indian travellers, with a growth of over 30 per cent recorded in 2017. How to Reach Ladakh

By Air:

The easiest way to travel to Ladakh is by air. The nearest airport is Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport located in Leh. This airport is connected with many international airports in India like Delhi. It also receives flights from Srinagar, Jammu, Chandigarh and other common destinations in India. The airport is a military terminal and thus, the security is a bit strangling.

 

By Road:

There are government and private buses from Srinagar and Manali. If you are choosing Srinagar, you will pass through Zoji La Pass to reach Ladakh and you will scale Rohtang Pass to reach Ladakh from Manali.

The Srinagar path is open from June to October for bus entries. The Manali route is open for bus routes from June to September. If you were planning to hire bus from New Delhi, it would take minimum 4 days to reach Ladakh

 

By Train

The nearest railway station to Ladakh is in Tawi, which is 700 km away from Ladakh. This railway station receives trains from many important destinations like KolkataMumbai, Delhi and others. From the station, you can find cabs to reach Ladakh. You can also pre-book cabs. It would take two days to reach Ladakh and the trip will cost INR 10,000. Other nearest railway stations are in Chandigarh and Pathankot. It would take at least three days to reach from the railway station to Ladakh. This is the most inconvenient method to reach Ladakh.

 

Best Season to Visit Leh Ladakh?

The best time to visit Leh Ladakh is summer between the end of March to middle of August. The prime tourist time is between June and August.
